Art
Head of Department - Ali Lucas Art
and Design is an integral part of the curriculum at Farleigh College
and takes part in the well-equipped art studio and ceramics room.
Pupils work in a variety of different media depending on the projects
undertaken and the needs of individual pupils. Pupils at Key Stage
Three follow the National Curriculum and the majority continue their
Art education at Key Stage Four, where they have opportunities to study
the AQA Unendorsed, Three Dimensional Studies, Fine Art, Textiles and/
or Photography Art and Design GCSEs.The Art Department is fortunate to be supported by an Individual Art Support Tutor, who is able to withdraw pupils individually or in small groups for both educational and therapeutic purposes. The Art Department believes in the importance of being enriched by the work of other Artists and regularly visits galleries, museums and other places of interest to encourage the broadening of minds. Farleigh College has a good record of pupils continuing to study Art and Design on courses at Further Education.
