Business Studies

KS4 pupils can choose Business Studies as a KS4 examination option. The course follows the guidelines of the Course Specification and includes a coursework project that is allocated 25% of the examination marks with the remaining 75% allocated to the written examination paper.

The course will focus on pupils gaining knowledge, skills and understanding of :- Business Activity and the Changing Environment, Human Resources, Accounting & Finance, Marketing and Production. It is designed to develop pupil understanding of the way in which businesses operate in a changing and competitive environment and will reflect current business theory and practice and the nature of business organisations and their decision-making processes.

Business Studies is a relatively recent addition to the curriculum at Farleigh College, which will complement our ‘Young Enterprise’ group business activities in which a group of pupils design, market, and produce products to realise a profit. 
Business Studies will provide pupils with appropriate business knowledge relevant to the ‘world of work’.
