ICT

Head of Department - Michael Keogh

Michael Keogh - Head of ICTICT is a popular subject at Farleigh College. As well as separate ICT lessons, pupils have access to a networked PC on their workstation for use across the curriculum. In addition to this, each classroom has a data projector and an Interactive SMARTboard to facilitate learning.

Many pupils at Farleigh find that the excellent ICT provision that they have available, allows them access to much more of the curriculum than they might otherwise manage. This is especially true for those pupils with literacy difficulties.

At Key Stage 3, pupils follow a differentiated version of the National Curriculum Programme of Study. They learn how to use a wide range of different software and build their skill levels in preparation in preparation for Key Stage Four.

In Key Stage Four, pupils have the opportunity to study towards the Diploma in Digital Applications (DiDA). This gives them the chance to gain anything from the equivalent of 1 GCSE pass at grade G, to the equivalent of 4 GCSE passes at grade A*. It is a highly flexible programme that meets the needs of our pupils, whatever their ability and interest level.
