Music
Head of Department - Ali Lucas Music
is a formal part of the timetable in Key Stage Three. It is available
as an option in Key Stage Four. As well as the timetabled lessons, many
pupils choose to use the music facilities in their lunch hour and after
school. Pupils tend to enjoy music and are given an opportunity to study a wide range of music genres, as well as composing their own pieces. Some pupils choose to perform music to parents and other visitors at either the Christmas Carol Concert or as part of the presentation ceremony at Sports Day. Music is offered as a GCSE and depending on the needs of those taking the course, this may be taught on site or at one of the mainstream schools in the local area.
