Social studies is a combination of the orders for Citizenship, RE and PSHE. At Farleigh College, we have combined the subjects in order to remove some of the negative images, which some students may, on joining us, associate with the names of each subject. In this way we are better able to focus on the content of the National Curriculum orders or subject advice. Another key element of our Social Studies programme is Careers Education and Guidance. The class tutor, who works in close liaison with the senior teacher, as well as local and student ‘home’ connexions services, normally delivers this important element of our curriculum.
